A week into the year 2023, PokerStars Ontario’s Winter Series is nearing conclusion. The series began on December 26 and includes various daily numbered events and Special Edition games.

The last weekend of the Winter Series is ready to begin on the PokerStars Ontario real money app, with plenty of juicy poker action spread over a number of events. There will be three stages of the Main Event beginning on Sunday, with more than $250,000 guaranteed across the three buy-in levels.

There are still around $600,000 in guarantees to be paid out before the Winter Series finishes. Aside from the Main Event, the Phased Winter Series 1 guarantees $36k in two stages. The Phase 2 games for these games will be played on Monday, January 9, and Phase 1 games will be played over the weekend leading up to the final day.

The New Year Begins with Huge Prizes
The first full weekend of 2023 is about to begin, and PokerStars Ontario will be bustling with poker activity. In the final days of the Winter Series, roughly $600k is still up for grabs, with $275,000 earmarked for the Main Event prize pool alone.

Three Main Event games with buy-ins ranging from $50 for the Low to $1000 for the High Roller begin at 17:05 on Sunday for Day 1. The Low game is expected to conclude on Sunday, but the High and High Roller games will be two-day affairs, with the remainder of the tournament concluding on Day 2 on Monday.

Winter Series Contributes to the Chinese New Year
Even though the Winter Series officially concludes on January 10, the tournament action continues on PokerStars Ontario. Immediately after the conclusion of the Winter Series, the lobby displays a Chinese New Year Series beginning on January 13.

Through January 23, approximately $900k is guaranteed in the 75-game series. Among the series’ highlights will be the $65k guaranteed Chinese New Year 65 Year of the Rabbit, which will take place on January 22. Additionally, there will be four events with guarantees of at least $50,000 and 16 tournaments with at least $20,000 in prizes.

PokerStars Ontario’s first full year of business will be 2023, and it will undoubtedly begin with a bang. The year-ending Winter Series is coming to a close, but players will only have a few days of leisure before joining the Chinese New Year celebrations.
