The Circuit is coming back to Verona, New York, and there will be 16 bouts in the ring with guarantees totaling over $1 million.
The 14th of March, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada Starting on Thursday, the World Series of Poker will be held in Verona for the second time in the tournament’s history. After many years without a stop at the Turning Stone Casino, the World Series of Poker Circuit finally made its way there, and the result was a huge success.
The series, which runs from March 16th to the 27th and has 16 ring events and over $1,000,000 in guarantees, is anticipated to draw similar fields this week.
Two tournaments with guaranteed prize pools will begin on Thursday. At 10 a.m., the $400 No-Limit Hold’em Double Stack tournament will begin. The $400 No-Limit Hold ’em Flight A tournament will begin later in the day. The second tournament will have four different beginning flights for players to select from. Flights B and C will begin on Friday at 10 AM and 4 PM. On Saturday, at 10 a.m., Flight D will begin, and on Sunday, at 10 a.m., all remaining players will return for Day 2 to play down to a winner.
There will be one Ladies’ Event (March 24) and two Senior Events (March 19 & 26). In addition to the Main Event for $1,700, there will be a $400 Monster Stack and a $600 Black Chip Bounty.
Flight A of the Main Event will get underway on Thursday, March 23 at 11 AM, with Flight B following the next day at the same time. On Saturday, we’ll launch our third and final Flight. One re-entry per player each flight is permitted. Winner of the Main Event may expect to receive a six-figure sum, a gold ring from the Circuit, and a seat in the “Tournament of Champions.” The prize pool for the Main Event is guaranteed at $500,000.
The Turning Stone Main Event attracted 891 participants and $1,349,865 in prize money last year. Joseph Rice, a player from the area, came out on top and took home the $238,870 first prize and the second ring of the series.
Winners of the official gold ring at this leg on the WSOP Circuit are invited to the invitation-only “Tournament of Champions.” At the 2023 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, there will be a $1 million freeroll tournament. The 2023 online champions will also be invited to the main event.
